Flyte is the 2nd book from the Septimus Heap series. We now know who Septimus is and we are following his adventures through his brand new wizard apprenticeship. This book is much more face-paced than it's predecessor Magyk and much more exciting. The action starts off right where book 1 finished off, but the happy ending we were left with in book 1 quickly becomes another complicated and long adventure with more magic, more danger and much less predictability. I could still guess the outcome of a few minor plot twists, but I'd attribute this to this series being targeted for younger readers, and the fact that we are still pretty early in the series. My affection for Septimus, the young queen Jenna, Niko, Marcia and the Heap family is steadily growing and I can't wait to see what will happen in book 3.
