To say that this book was a life altering read might be a bit of an exaggeration...but not by much. I think I highlighted and underlined over half the book while reading through it. It was thought provoking, daring and really just brilliant. I can understand people not liking though, as it is so fearlessly in your face about feminism and the evolution of the female condition. People don't like thinking of how women were treated in the past, or of the way women treat themselves and other women. Its a real eye-opener and I for one still see it as one of the best books I have ever read.
